BEAUTY AND SKIN FOOD AT COFFS COAST FARMERS MARKET

Who knew that one small city could supply all this skincare and beauty goodness!
The array of vegetables available each Thursday at the Coffs coast farmer's markets is phenomenal.
Greens,reds,purples-also fruit in abundance. This is beauty food at it's finest!
I read the other day "A beetroot a day keeps the facelift away"! Kale juiced with other vege's gives the skin a glow like nothing else.
Also available is local Macadamia nut oil which can be used as a facial cleanser/makeup remover, all over body oil and a hair treatment oil.
Iv'e also just discovered, apparently staring it in the face for months, the stall that sells the incredible local soaps from Bellingen that have a soap with shea butter and other goodies  specifically for the face-it dosn't dry out your skin, removes makeup and cleans as well as any other type of cleanser-it's pink! I bought some and  tried it out that night. They have other gorgeous soaps too.
All this at our fingertips (if you're at Coffs coast!)

Enjoy your day,love fiona

Hi Everyone,
Today i'm sharing some recipes for home made exfoliators as well as suggestions of brands that carry excellent exfoliators for your body.No time like the present to get your skin gorgeous, ready for summer, the outdoors and skin exposure!

Home made DIY exfoliators are the best, cheapest, and most convenient (open your fridge and go to your pantry and your done).

Here are a few of my faves:

FOR BODY

raw sugar
olive oil

pretty much mix together, get in the shower and rub over limbs.Leaves skin smooth and silky.

ground coffee
cinnamon powder
coconut cream/milk

This scrub means business. It is used in day spas for cellulite, improving circulation, and really improves skin tone.

kelp powder

Use as is straight from the packet.Basically use in shower on wet skin, rubbing the kelp over your skin.
You will have fresher looking skin like you've never seen before.

Brands doing good body scrubs:

Arbonne-their salt scrub is to die for
Natio-really good body scrubs with essential oils
Body shop-all good
Aesop geranium leaf body scrub-beautiful

Enjoy doing scrubs as a part of your routine.Your skin will glow as it will look so much fresher, you will boost blood and lymph flow which improves skin tone as well as aiding the detoxification process as skin is the largest and main organ of elimination.

"To be able to put makeup on so you feel more awake and prettier is an empowering thing. It's not about
wearing bad makeup;it's about wearing makeup that makes you feel like your best self."-BOBBI BROWN

TWO NEW FACE MASK RECIPES

Hi, I recently came across a magazine i'd forgotten about - herbs for natural beauty, and discovered some really good recipes for face treatments.
The following two are my faves:

DRY SKIN-AVOCADO CREAM MASK
1/2 ripe avocado
1tbls thick fresh cream
1tbls honey
1000mg evening primrose oil capsule
5 drops sandalwood E/O
rice flour-sufficient to make a paste

Mix avo, cream, honey, contents of capsule and E/O together until smooth, add rice flour to make a paste, cover and refrigerate for 30mins.
Lightly remix and apply thick layer to clean dry skin.Cover whole area of face, neck and decolletage.
Leave for 15mins,then rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

OILY SKIN-BREWER'S YEAST MASK
1tbls powdered brewer's yeast
1 tspn powdered spirulina
1 tbls plain yogurt
1 egg white
cornflour

Mix yeast, spirulina and yogurt together, whisk egg white until foamy in separate bowl, then add to yeast mixture.Stir to combine, adding cornflour to make a workable paste.Apply to clean, slightly damp skin
and leave for 15mins.then rinse off with cool water.

I love this,it was written on the same page as the oily skin masks:

                                                        'If God had wanted
                                                         me otherwise,He
                                                         would have created
                                                         me otherwise'

                                                         Johann Von Goethe (1749-1832)

Hi just thought i'd quickly share a couple of 'springtime masks' to do as we enter warmer weather and skin goes through a few changes (especially in the wind).

OPTION 1: Mash ripe avocado & olive oil into a paste and apply to warm skin.(open the pores first with warm water and a muslin cloth),leave on face and neck for 10 mins.rinse off,pat dry and moisturize.

OPTION 2: This is an Ayurvedic recipe that an Indian lady gave me years ago and it's AMAZING.
Mix natural yoghurt, lemon juice and besan flour(chickpea flour) together.Apply to skin quite thickly and leave at least 15 mins. This mask can be done quite frequently and you will notice a difference in  your skin for the better.(Indian grocery/specialty stores sell the besan flour).

Just thought id' add this amazing quote I found:
DO ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN,BY ALL THE MEANS YOU CAN,
IN ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN,IN ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN,
AT ALL THE TIMES YOU CAN,TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CAN,
AS LONG AS EVER YOU CAN-JOHN WESLEY

hello again,lipstick and skin

Hi everyone, hope you're all feeling lovely in your skin. What's everyone using these days in terms of skin and body products?
The market is saturated with more and more gorgeous products, both organic and non-organic.The amount of companies launching organic and natural makeup that is fashionable, wearable and good for the skin is phenomenal. And of course it's all available at the click of a button and your new lipstick from London is on your doorstep (and hopefully your lips) in days.
A lipstick I have tried recently is Chantecaille in a colour called amaryllis: a gorgeous deep pinky red,but it's very sheer and I have been using it as a cream blush/cheek stain. So far so good.I just thought i'd pick it up as whipped through Mecca Cosmetica  ..um,actually I never whip through Mecca Cosmetica,I stay until i'm completely exhausted, dehydrated, starving and deliriously happy.(Mecca Cosmetica is inside the Myer Pitt st Sydney store, among other locations, hence the fact that iv'e got there via 101 other cosmetic counters!!.)Chantecaille has a lot of 'good stuff'' in their makeup, its very pretty.
It is also an ideal time to give your skin some TLC in time for summer.Dry body brushing is one way of sloughing off dead skin and increasing blood and lymph flow and works very well at helping eliminate cellulite.People who regularly dry body brush, read:Miranda Kerr, report an overall healthy look and tone to their skin (never dry body brush the face though!).
Other methods are of course body scrubs, and come in a myriad of formulas, the most popular being salt or sugar based usually in an oil or cream-great for regular use.One brand I am particularly loving is Arbonne-they have an incredible salt scrub with essential oils that I would love to eat!(don't worry,i'll try not to)....
Fresh fruit and vege juices are a fantastic way to get yourself beach ready and are so good for your health.Everything benefits-hair,skin,energy,weight,immune system, the lot.I will add some info on juices and their benefits tomoz. love Fiona x
